First snow in Wyoming, Idaho, and Montana

Although it is still technically summer, some western states have already experienced their first snow. This true-color MODIS image from September 9 of Idaho (left), Montana (upper right), and Wyoming (lower right), show a dusting of white over the forests of the Northern Rocky Mountains.
