Southern China

The coastal waters of southern China are swirling with colors that probably indicate the presence of both sediment and phytoplankton. Right of center a black outline marks the location of Hong Kong. At lower left is Vietnam. This image was acquired by the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) on the Aqua satellite.
