Dust Storm in Taklimakan Desert

Vegetation growing along the paths of rivers in the Taklimakan Desert in northwest China are being obscured by a cloud of dust sweeping over the region in this Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) image from the Terra satellite on August 14, 2003.
